F33LZ is built on the principle that your emotional data belongs to you. Because our app processes sensitive voice recordings and emotional analysis, we use a strict, 4-tier consent architecture. This policy explains exactly what each tier means and how you control your data.
The 4 Tiers of Consent
When you create an account, you will be asked to set your consent preferences. You can change these at any time in the app settings.
Tier 1: Core Service (Required)
This is the minimum data processing required for F33LZ to function as your personal emotional archive.
- What we do: We record your voice, transcribe it to text, and analyze the text for emotional sentiment and keywords. We store this data securely so you can view your past entries and track your emotional journey over time.
- Who sees it: Only you. Your profile is private by default.
- Can I opt out? No. If you do not consent to Tier 1, you cannot use the F33LZ app.
Tier 2: Social Matching (Optional)
This tier allows F33LZ to connect you with other users who are experiencing similar emotions or discussing similar topics.
- What we do: We use your emotional tags and transcript keywords to find "matches" within the F33LZ community.
- Who sees it: If matched, the other user will see your display name, profile picture, and the specific transcript/tags that triggered the match. They will never hear your raw audio recording.
- Can I opt out? Yes. If you opt out, you will not be matched with others, and your entries will remain entirely private.
Tier 3: Internal Research & Improvement (Optional)
This tier helps us make F33LZ better for everyone.
- What we do: We use your anonymized transcripts and emotional data to train and improve our speech-to-text models, sentiment analysis algorithms, and matching systems.
- Who sees it: F33LZ engineers and data scientists. All data is stripped of personally identifiable information (PII) before analysis.
- Can I opt out? Yes. If you opt out, your data will not be used for internal algorithm training.
Tier 4: External Research & B2B Insights (Optional)
This tier allows your data to contribute to broader academic research or enterprise insights regarding human emotion.
- What we do: We aggregate and fully de-identify your emotional data and share these insights with vetted academic researchers or enterprise partners.
- Who sees it: Approved third-party researchers or partners. They will never receive your PII, raw audio, or individual transcripts.
- Can I opt out? Yes. If you opt out, your data will not be included in any external research or B2B datasets.
How to Change Your Consent Settings
You can review and update your consent preferences at any time:
- Open the F33LZ app.
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Consent.
- Toggle the switches for Tiers 2, 3, and 4.
Changes take effect immediately for all future data processing.
Data Deletion
If you delete your account, all your personal data, voice recordings, and transcripts will be permanently deleted from our active databases, regardless of your consent tier settings. Aggregated, de-identified data that has already been incorporated into research models (Tiers 3 and 4) cannot be retroactively removed, as it is no longer linked to you.
